Southern Ohio Pastors Conference – September 21, 2013

The SOPC is very excited to announce the 2013 Southern Ohio Pastors Conference, Training Disciples to Make Disciples. 

Location:  River Valley Community Church, Waverly, Ohio

Date & Time:  The conference date is Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 9am-5pm (see below for a detailed schedule).

Meet & Greet:  On Friday, September 20, at 7pm, RVCC will be hosting a Meet & Greet session that will include fellowship, worship, prayer, and a short message.  All are welcome to attend and there is no additional cost to attend the Meet & Greet.

9:30 am – 10:30 am – Session 1: Biblical Foundations for Christian Discipleship with Greg Schaffer

10:45 am – 11:45 am – Session 2: Disciple Making and Preaching with Mike Lawrie

11:45 am – 1:00 pm – Lunch (on your own)

1:00 pm – 1:10 pm – A Word From Our Sponsor, Praises

1:15 pm – 2:15 pm – Breakout Sessions (see below)

2:30 pm – 3:30 pm – Session 3: Discipling for Transformation with David Dunham

3:45 pm – 4:45 pm – Panel Discussion with Q&A

Registration:  Registration will begin at 8:00am on the day of the conference (cash, check, and credit card accepted), or you can pre-register using the PayPal button below.

Speakers, Breakout Leaders, and Panelists:

Greg Schaffer is the pastor at First Baptist Church in Waverly, Ohio, and will be speaking during the first session, Biblical Foundations for Christian Discipleship. 

Mike Lawrie is the lead pastor at River Valley Community Church in Waverly, Ohio, and will be speaking during the second session, Disciple Making & Preaching, as well as sitting on the Variations in Small Group Discipleship panel discussion. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University (BA) and Calvin Theological Seminary (MDiv).

David Dunham is an associate pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville, Michigan, and will be speaking during the third session, Discipling for Transmission and Transformation. He is a graduate of Ohio University (BA) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv).

Chris VanBuskirk is the lead pastor at Centerpoint Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, and will be leading the Individual Discipleship breakout session, as well as sitting on the Variations in Small Group Discipleship panel discussion. Chris is a graduate of Greenville College.

Jason Boothe is a pastor at Horizons Baptist Church in Piketon, Ohio, and will be leading the Discipleship in Pastoral Care breakout session. He is a graduate of Shawnee State University (BA), Grand Canyon University (MA), and Anderson Theological Seminary (ThM, ThB, ThD).

David Kelly is the pastor at First Baptist Church in Wellston, Ohio, and will be sitting on the panel discussion, Variations in Small Group Discipleship. He is a graduate of the Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM).

Drew Karst is an elder at Grace Community Church in Waverly, Ohio, and will be leading the Discipleship and the Family breakout session.

Dylan Rowland is an elder at Grace Community Church in Waverly, Ohio, and will be leading the Orthodoxy Leads to Orthopraxy breakout session. He is a graduate of Shawnee State University (BA) and is currently studying at Reformed Theological Seminary (MA).

Matt Kysor is an associate pastor at Centerpoint Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, and will be moderating the Variations in Small Group Discipleship panel discussion. Matt is a graduate of Regent University (MDiv).
